Ira Gershwin famously wrote, "I got rhythm, I got music...who could ask for anything more?"
Everyone experiences and enjoys music whether they know how to label each wondrous element or not. I love seeing the kids experience beat and rhythm and then become skillful at feeling, reading, performing and creating rhythms. We explore steady beat through movement and instrument playing, learn difficult rhythmic patterns by attaching them to words everyone already knows how to say, practice our knowledge by performing rhythmic patterns on top of popular songs, and create new rhythmic patterns to perform. I LOVE TEACHING RHYTHM!!!
